“Running isn’t just a hobby for me, it’s a lifestyle. I can honestly say that running changed my life – mentally and physically. I’ve encountered countless seasons of self doubt and depression which has left me feeling empty inside. Without running I don’t know where I would be.
I started to run by myself 6 years ago and haven’t stopped since. Whenever I doubted myself, faced trials or felt low… I ran. It enabled me to cultivate a mindset of consistency and overcome obstacles in my life that I wouldn’t have imagined. Instead of running away from my past, I knew I was running more for a reason and purpose.
Although I found joy in running by myself, it wasn’t until recently that I realised running with a COMMUNITY is so essential for achieving the above at a much greater scale. I started to attend various runs and races around London, and I can honestly say that the act of running and socialising was a breath of fresh air for me.
My good friend Joel Thika and I acknowledged that we need to share the importance of running so that others can reap the benefits as well, especially within the male community. This is why RWP exists today. We want men to live and ‘run’ towards a purpose filled life. This is more than just running, this is a lifestyle.”
